On Monday, December 14, 2009,  the Grade 8 class went to Scuba 2000.  What an incredible experience!

 

Scuba! The wonderful world of underwater activity.  Since the grade 8 science program explores fluid and gas pressure,what a great way to understand the weight and pressure of water by sitting at the bottom of a 4m pool.  Playing games and watching bubbles travel to the surface occupied the students time in the pool while at other stations they learned about equipment and the sport of scuba diving.  The lessons of gas compression, Boyle's and Charles' laws of gases are not easily forgotten with this type of hands on experience.
