Statement of Faith

bibleBible

We believe the Bible to be the inspired and infallible Word of God. It is God's message to people today. Thus, we give it the place of supreme authority. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21)

God

We believe there is only one living, holy, and eternal God, who is Creator, Preserver and Governor of all things (Genesis 1:1). We believe that God exists in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, all three having the same nature and attributes, but each having a distinct yet harmonious role in creation and redemption (John 10:30). We believe in a God of righteousness and justice who is all-knowing (Psalm 147:5; 1 John 3:19-20), all-powerful (Psalms 139:7-10; Acts 17:24-28) and all-loving (1 John 4:7-8, 16; 1 John 3:16)

Our Lord Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ, eternally God the Son, by His incarnation through the virgin birth (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23), became what He never was before, thus combining in one person, two natures both complete and forevermore. The sinless One (Hebrews 4:15; 7:26), in full obedience to the Divine will, suffered death on the cross (1 Corinthians 15:3; Ephesians 1:7; Hebrews 2:9). He rose bodily from the grave and ascended into heaven (John 11:25,1 Corinthians 15:3-4) where He functions as Great High Priest and Advocate (1John 2:1; Hebrews 4:14)

Holy Spirit

The Eternal Spirit proceeded from the Father, in the name of the Son (John 15:26). He is the source of all life and the Holy Scriptures (2 Timothy 3:16). He convicts men of sin (John 16:7-8), aids them in repentance and faith (Acts 2:38) and seals every believer unto the day of redemption (Ephesians 4:30).

Man

Man came into existence by a deliberate act of creation. God created man in His image and made him capable of communion with Himself (Genesis 1:26-27). Man sinned and is now the object of redemption (Genesis 3:6-7). Before him is the certainty of future judgment and unending personal existence (Revelation 20:12-15; John 5:24).

Salvation

Man is freed from the condemnation of sin, by repentance and acceptance, through faith, in Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord. Salvation results not only in deliverance from final judgement in the life to come, but also in this present life, in the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit for the deliverance from sin. (John 3:16-19; John 5:24; Romans 3:23; Romans 5:8-9; Ephesians 2:8-10; Titus 3:5)
